25 YEARS PROFESSIONAL INTERNATIONAL PERFORMER ACTOR PLAYWRIGHT SONGWRITER FOR MUSICAL THEATRE Young Actor and Dancer I was born in Canada, and later emigrated to Ireland in search of adventure (and found it). My formal training began at Theatre Aquarius School of Performing Arts, where i was awarded a full scholarship for outstanding ability in acting, dance, and singing. We were led by Lou Zamprogna, a performer of London's West End (West Side Story) and film (Fiddler On the Roof, Man of La Mancha). University Dancer I studied dance at the University of Waterloo. Body movement is expression, and I now use this awareness to be a physical actor. Academics and Sport I've graduated with a Undergraduate Degree in Financial Economics and a Masters Degree in Mathematical Economics (Multi-Dimensional Matrix Algebra). While doing so I also played ice hockey and rugby for my university, and was a member of the university fencing team. Music and Travel I also began working as a professional musician, and my elite Irish traditional band has traveled to every corner of the globe. In addition to headlining major international festivals, we've played private concerts on super-yachts and charity concerts in some of the world's most poverty stricken regions. For me, music is storytelling, and my experiences are a well to draw upon when developing a character. Home, Sweet Home I have lived semi-permanently in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, Thailand, and now Italy. The world is my oyster. Risk Taking Solo sky dive from 3,000 feet, bungee jump from 440 feet, white water rafting the Pacuare River at high water....I thrive on attempting new things. I either succeed or I learn. The only failure is in not trying. Shakespeare's Clown After many years of professional theatre, I am now focused on film & tv. I enjoy the challenge of adapting my inner monologue to suit each role, and relish the opportunity of expressing my life experience through each character. It's not enough to be real; you must also be engaging. Shakespeare's clown wears so many faces.... |
